Here’s a quick fill that sounds slick, feels great to play, and works with loads of different grooves. In this video, I break down a pro-sounding fill that’s perfect for beginner and developing drummers who want to level up their playing without needing hours of practice.
Watch it here:
Why This Fill Works
This fill combines 1/4 note triplets and 8th note triplets, giving it a really unique rhythmic feel. It locks in beautifully with triplet-based grooves (like shuffles), but also creates a cool push-and-pull when dropped into straight 8th note grooves. It’s a simple concept with a surprisingly musical payoff—and it just works.
